Southern Illinois Radio Information Service Southern Illinois Radio Information Service

Ellen Thomas

Imagine not being able to read the daily newspaper or your favorite magazine. SIRIS volunteers read local newspapers and magazines and record them into computers for broadcast to the blind and sight-impaired. All it takes to become a volunteer is a clear, understandable voice and a love of reading. If you aren't interested in reading, you can assist the SIRIS program with distribution of its special radio receivers, answering calls from listeners, and other general office work.

Visit us at 1003 S. Oakland Avenue, Carbondale, IL or call 618-453-2808 for more information. You may also call Vickie Devenport, Director, at (618) 453-6148.
Directions: South on Oakland from West Main Street (IL Hwy13), located on east side of the street between Mill Street and Chautauqua Road.

If you would like to make a donation to support SIRIS, please call 453-9748 or 800-745-9748.
