Seattle native Brendan Greenstreet joins WSIU Public Radio as the new host of Sunday Night Jazz. Currently an undergraduate student in the SIUC School of Music, studying Clarinet Performance, Greenstreet is also a talented saxophone player whose music has taken him to Europe where he performed at both the Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland and the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Netherlands. Greenstreet’s eclectic taste in music ranges from Fela Kuti to Frank Zappa, from Beethoven and Count Basie to Squarepusher and back again. He can be seen performing in the Carbondale area with local groups such as Footprints, Mathien, and occasionally The New Ledge Band, as well as with SIUC's Jazz Ensemble I and Wind Ensemble. Greenstreet is expected to graduate in 2008 and hopes to continue his studies in Clarinet Performance with David Krakauer at New York University.
