WSIU'S MAKING ART OUTREACH PROJECT

The Illinois Arts Council and Carbondale Community Arts provided funding for WSIU's Ready To Learn community arts access program this year. With these funds WSIU is conducting Ready To Learn workshops for child care providers and families featuring:

• PBS Families/Para la Familia newsletters titled, "Making Art"
• PBS KIDS Between The Lions television program episode "Art Party"
• WSIU-FM classical music
• Children's books about art
• Family art activities

During each Making Art workshop, participants make an individual piece of art inspired by the classical music on WSIU-FM. Each artwork is entered into a regional contest and the winners will receive prizes from WSIU. Check this web page for winners names and entries to be posted in mid-December.
