    Resources for Further Understanding

WSIU Public Television, Channels 8 & 16, has compiled many resources for gaining a greater understanding of September 11th's terrorist attacks and their impact on our society. Ideas for public dialogue and activities to promote policy making are here. School lesson plans for teachers and students, discussion guides for interfaith participation and healing, and feedback from area residents are posted on this site.

Information is organized according to your interest area: community and civic groups, churches, and education. Visit our Resources page to get more web site links, books, videotapes, broadcast listings, and learning activities for each of these areas of interest. Join in the River Region's virtual discussion group, based on a model for public dialogue from the Study Circles Resource Center. The Center promotes community-wide, democratic, small group discussions to address critical social and political issues, including a special discussion guide entitled, "Facing the Future: How Should We Respond to the Attack on our Nation?"

    Thoughts & Tributes

It's easy to join our region's virtual discussion group to share your own thoughts and experiences, and to view more local comments, photographs, and feedback here. Our thanks to Carterville Intermediate School for local photographs, some of which were used in our graphic design.
