Associate Director, WSIU Broadcasting Service (Technology & Planning)

Associate Director, Broadcasting Service (Technology & Planning), WSIU/WUSI-TV (PBS) WSIU/WUSI/WVSI-FM (NPR), Southern Illinois University Carbondale: As 'technology officer' responsible for planning & managing all technological aspects of SIUC Broadcasting Service including overseeing daily technical operations, technology staff, planning for and specifying equipment purchases, FCC compliance and planning for future uses of communications technology. Required: Bachelor's degree required in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Communications Technology, or related field, Master's Degree preferred. Five years of Communications Technology Management experience and demonstration of knowledge and proficiency with broadcast and other high-tech communications required. Also required: excellent time management, teamwork, the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously, well-developed leadership and management skills, and valid driver's license. Experience in public broadcasting preferred.

Assistant Development Director, Broadcasting Service (Corporate Support)

WSIU Public Broadcasting of Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Development Director (Corporate Support)

Requirements: Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, business or another field related to the position (Master's degree preferred). Three to five years prior outside sales experience, preferably in a media-related organization. Experience in a public broadcasting station preferred. Valid driver's license required. This position requires a person with advanced knowledge of the sales field and requires consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

DUTIES: This primary role of this position is to help plan and implement fundraising activities for WSIU Public Broadcasting. The duties include helping to secure corporate underwriting support and conduct collateral activities that support this effort: research and develop a good client base, design effective presentations that meet the needs of prospective clients, make compelling calls on clients, secure the desired underwriting support, and collect or arrange collection of accounts receivable.
